PROJECT 6: Give Kids a Smile Day
The ADA sponsors "Give a Child a Smile Day" in February every year and we plan to be a part of it. You can sign your child up on our website or go directly to the ADA website for more information.
PROJECT 4: First Visit to the Dentist Treatment & Referrals
Most parents tell me that they can't find a dentist that will see their child before the age of 5. We will provide opportunities for first time dental treatment for your child and connect you with a dentist in your area that can see your child as soon as his or her first tooth erupts.
PROJECT 1: Free Dental Screenings
We will provide Free Dental Screenings for Babies and Children up to the age of 6 at Community Health Centers, Homeless Shelters, Health Fairs, Daycares, Churches and Schools. Parents will need to sign up and give permission for the screenings.
PROJECT 2: Oral Health Prevention and Nutrition Courses for Parents
We plan to hold courses for parents (specially expecting mothers) so that they can understand what cavities are, how they can affect their babies, and what they can do to prevent them.
PROJECT 3: No More Cavities Club
To be in our No More Cavities club your child must be screened or checked by a dentist. Every child in our club will receive a special package for being and remaining in our club. Your child's status will be accessed every 6 months to a year.
PROJECT 5: Pediatrician Training
Most Pediatricians do not inform parents about how to properly care for their child's teeth. We will hold quarterly training sessions with Pediatricians in our area so that they can be part of the solution.
